The Atlanta & West Point Railroad depot sat between the main lines of the A&WP and the AB&C/ACL/SCL Lineville Subdivision (track visibile just to left of depot next to white shed)          
The Atlanta & LaGrange Railroad reached town in February 1853 and extened on to West Point, Georgia in May 1854. In 1857, the name was changed to Atlanta & West Point Railroad
