Seaboard Coast Line B23-7 #5153 with inbound train SCL #587, The Wadley Turn, arrives with Santa's Train |
Description: |
Long-time SCL engineer John Douglas, eases his locomotive to a stop for the final time, EVER. John Douglas always managed to be at the controls of the Wadley Turn on the last Saturday before each Christmas, amazingly on the very same day that Santa Claus always managed to be on the train as well. |

The Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic constructed this depot in 1907 |
Description: |
The former AB&A, AB&C, ACL and SCL depot at Wadley still stands in 2011, yet looks far worse than this photo. A very early example of Spanish Revival architecture, it displays wide, overhanging eaves supported by brackets, red tile roof, half round door and window arches along with stucco veneer |

In!2012, this depot still stands, minus the train order signal. In addition, the Ozark siding has been removed so the switch stand in the foreground is long gone, too |
