An overview of Cleveland Pulpwood Yard
A close look at the white building in the middle reveals a long, white pole leaning against the roof. This is the measuring stick that was used to determine the amount of inbound pulpwood that was delivered and sold to Cleveland. This was determined by using an average cubic measure (height x width x length) at several locations on the load

Eugene Cain General In Evans, Georgia we had a Pulpwood Yard like this. I spent many afternoons there after school just hanging out with my friend and getting high on the smell of fresh cut wood!!! We would camp out there at night sometimes on the weekend. It was always so much fun doing that as a teenager!!! One night we were there, and there was a bad Car wreck off in the distance. We saw a huge Blue flash when the car hit a Pole with a transformer on it. 12/27/2011 9:55:31 AM
Robert Farkas General I'm so used to thinking about pulpwood being a rail commodity that seeing it on a truck is a surprise. 12/27/2011 6:03:56 PM
Charles Stookey General What a great scene to model. 12/28/2011 2:50:23 AM
David Barrentine General I wish I would have taken pictures of the wood yard in Dothan. I use to climb the Mountains (at least they seemed like mountains to me) of woodchips, when I would go to the woodyard with Deddy. Glad you thought about taking a picture of it. That's about all we've got of them now. 12/29/2011 7:16:01 PM
Olaf Junges General Great scene, very nice photo! 1/2/2012 3:25:13 AM
